Ours is an ancient story that comes from far away, but seen with the same enthusiasm for the future.
35 years of constant growth.
1985

In 1985 in Bolgare (BG) Locatelli installations started their activity, company specialized in the installation of water plants. At the same time we started to produce the first salt tablets, even if only in limited numbers for clients who gradually bought with the installations.

Over the years the needs of the market prompted Locatelli plants to focus solely on the production of salt tablets.

2007

In 2007 the construction of the new plant began, always in Bolgare (BG). We arrive at an operational head quartes that develops over an area of 20.000 m2, 7.000 of which are covered.

The production of the salt tablets is further enhanced, putting the highest quality levels that have always distinguished us. The sea salt production line is activated, grinded in all kinds of granulometry.

2014
In 2014 the opportunity to buy the salt mines of Volterra came up, from where the purest salt of Italy is extracted from. Locatelli plants becomes Locatelli Saline of Volterra, with headquarters in Volterra(PI) it is the detachment refinery of Bolgare (BG).
2021
Volterra is the city of salt!!
An announcement of the municipal administration which stated Volterra "City of Salt "this is a reason of pride for the Locatelli Saline of Volterra, which has been running important investment actions to increase the production of salt inside the plant.
